Mangaluru Apr 26: Karnataka State Kshatriya Okkoota Mangaluru zone has registered displeasure at BJP for denying ticket to former minister Krishna J Palemar from Mangaluru North constituency.
Addressing media here on Thursday April 26, president Mangaluru zone of Karnataka State Kshatriya Okkoota, Krishnanda Rao, said, “Krishna J Palemar is a very prominent leader of the backward community of Kshatriya people. He is a trustworthy worker of BJP who has worked with people of all walks of life. During his tenure as the in-charge minister of Dakshina Kannada, there was not a single incident of communal violence. He worked towards the all-round development of this area. He played a key role in the historic win of BJP by winning 39 seats in MCC. His donations towards the building the party office and other community halls are noteworthy.
"For such a leader, BJP has denied ticket from Mangaluru North constituency. This is shocking for us. It is not only an insult but also a case of cheating by the party,” he added.
"Krishna J Palemar was assured of ticket by the higher authorities of BJP. He was advised to prepare himself for the election by campaigning and was asked to submit his identity proof for the issue of B-form. But without even informing him, a new candidate was given B form. This is injustice to our community and a grave mistake of BJP,” he informed.
"Our Okkoota had a meeting with a large number of people and it was resolved to boycott the election till we get assurance of fair justice for Krishna J Palemar. Otherwise our community should not be held responsible for any future course of action and election results," said Krishnanda Rao.
Okkoota members Yogesh, Kalpana and others were present.
