Bantwal, Apr 20: Mangaluru South Congress candidate and sitting MLA J R Lobo on Friday April 20 visited senior party leader Janardhan Poojary at his residence here and sought his blessings ahead of the Karnataka assembly elections.
J R Lobo will file his nomination on April 23. He will be contesting against BJP's Vedavyas Kamath.
Wishing J R Lobo, Poojary said, "During your tenure you have worked hard for the overall development of Mangaluru. I am confident that you will secure victory in the forthcoming elections. You have worked for the people and the work you have done will be your trump card."
On the same day, B A Mohiuddin Bava, Congress candidate from Mangaluru North constituency met Janardhana Poojary and enquired about his health.
Poojary during the visit said that he would not be able to campaign for the party owing to his deteriorating health.
Poojary expressed confidence that the Congress would retain power as the people of Karnataka will give a mandate for good governance.
KPCC secretory Devi Prasad Shetty, taluk panchayath member Sunil Poojary accompanied Bava.
For the past two days, Congress candidates have been making a beeline to Poojary's house to seek his blessings. Bantwal MLA and candidate Ramanath Rai visited him on April 18, followed by Kaup MLA and candidate Vinay Kumar Sorake the next day.
