Bantwal, Apr 18: Minister B Ramanath Rai, who is the Congress party candidate for the Bantwal assembly constituency in the upcoming elections, met veteran leader of the party B Janardhan Poojary on the morning of Wednesday, April 18 and sought his blessings by touching his feet.
It might be recalled that the relation between the two had turned sour some time back. They had even indulged in war of words in press meets and other occasions.
Rai will be submitting his nomination as Congress candidate on Thursday, April 19. That is why he went to the house of his political mentor Poojary and sought his blessings. He also requested Poojary to support him in the coming election.
"People of Bantwal constituency are intelligent. They do not pay heed to any rumours and will vote for development this time also. God will be with you," said Poojary on this occasion.
Poojary accompanied Rai till his car as he was leaving Poojary's residence after seeking the blessings.
Poojary has been unwell for sometime and resting at his house in Bantwal.
Baby Kunder, former employee of Vijaya Bank, who has recently joined Congress party was present on the occasion.
