Udupi, Apr 17: Supporters of former MLA Raghupati Bhat offered special prayers to Lord Sri Krishna here at a temple on Tuesday, April 17, on behalf of town BJP and district BJP Yuva Morcha in order to help him get ticket to contest election from Udupi assembly constituency.
Raghavendra Kini, former district BJP president speaking to mediapersons said, “Raghupati Bhat is an eligible leader to contest the upcoming elections. It is our unanimous desire that he becomes the candidate. He will win by majority. We would like to see him as the next MLA of Udupi. Hence we have planned to perform poojas seeking blessings from God.”
Supporters of Raghupati Bhat said, “We trust state BJP president, national president and other senior leaders. As everyone knows that Raghupati Bhat is the right person to defeat Pramod Madhwaraj. We hope that his name will be featured in the third candidates’ list, which will be released soon.”
Poojas will be held at Odabandeshwar temple at Malpe and Sri Mahalingeshwar temple, Brahmavar seeking grace of God upon Raghupati Bhat.
As per tradition, firstly they offered pooja at Anantheshwar and Chandra Mouleshwar temple. Pooja at Sri Krishna and Mukhyaprana followed.
Raghupati Bhat’s mother Saraswathi Bai, wife Shilpa, senior leader Somashekhar Bhat, Mahesh Takur, Rashmaith Balakrishna, Upendra Nayaka and others joined the pooja rituals.
