Dubai, Apr 16: Band Charitra created history yet again on April 13 with their fantabulous performance enthralling a huge crowd of music lovers. The event was well organized by Precious Parties along with associate sponsor Konkan Yuva.
The inaugural ceremony was initiated by pouring the seven colors of sand representing seven Emirates of UAE living in unity. The event was inaugurated by chief guest Walter Nandalike, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld, Fr Robert Lasrado, spiritual director of Konkan Yuva and assistant parish Priest of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Joseph Mathias from Merit Freight Group, Dr Frank Fernandes from Mosacco Shipping, Benedict Pinto, along with Josna Martis, president and Shelma D'almeida, secretary of Konkan Yuva.
In his inaugural message, Walter Nandalike congratulated the organizers for organsing such a massive event despite many hurdles. He appreciated the efforts taken up to bring Konkani community together. Fr Robert appreciated the efforts taken up by Konkan Yuva in organizing such an event successfully and called the audience to support Konkani language and culture.
All the sponsors, donors and well-wishers were honored by Walter Nandalike and Fr Robert Lasrado. Deepak Machado compered the stage programme. President of Konkan Yuva Josna Martis rendered the vote of thanks.
The event had performances from legendry singer Mike Simon along with ace singers Melwyn Antony D’Souza, Lavita Lobo and Akshada Talaulikar. The musical event had some smash hits like ‘Tuja Tondar’, ‘Maria’, ‘Chedun’, ‘Laveena’, ‘Ye Veggie Ye’ along with other hit numbers. The band also had a tribute session dedicated to popular Konkani singers.
Along with tremendous music, trio from Kuwait, Stephen, Lancy and Jaison, left the audience in splits in between the songs with their rib tickling skits. Famous dance troupe Ocean Kids performed dances enhancing the beauty of the musical event. Legendry singer Mike Simon was honoured by Konkan Yuva and Band Charitra for his contribution to Konkani music.
Ace compere Roshan D’Silva kept the crowd engaged.
Konkani music lovers in Dubai had a fabulous evening filled with soothing music, laughter and gracious dance moves. The event was well received by the audience.
