Puttur, Apr 14: Students living in a paying guest (PG) accommodation at Boluvarbail in the city here, caught two robbers who tried to enter and loot a house on the night of Thursday February 12.
This incident is reported from the house of couple Baby Poojary and Pushpalatha. Baby Poojary works abroad. Pushpalatha lives with her two daughters and another girl, who is a relative of hers.
In the early morning of Friday, around 1 am, a gang of five youth entered the compound of the house. When the inmates of the house heard the sound of footsteps, they woke up and saw strangers roaming in the compound. They immediately called the police control room.
In addition to informing the police, Pushpalatha called the students, who are known to her daughters and informed the same to them. All the students residing at a nearby paying guest accommodation approached the house from different directions. The robbers tried to escape from the spot on seeing the students. However, they managed to catch two of them. The robbers were handed over to the police for further action.
