Udupi, Apr 14: Secretary General of Bharathiya Janashakti Congress, Anupama Shenoy has made it clear that she will be contesting from the Kaup legislative assembly constituency in the forthcoming elections.
She spoke to media persons in a press conference here on Friday, April 13.
“Kaup is my native constituency. So I will not be contesting from Ballary or any other constituency,” she added.
"My party was registered on February 18 and ladies finger is allotted by the election commission as our symbol. Around 80 people have shown their interest to contest from my party in the state elections. The list is being scrutinized. For sure we will contest in 30 constituencies. I have formed this party with the intention of building a political party and not for only the upcoming elections," said Anupama.
Opportunity for right candidates
Anupama further said, "Anyone who wants to join our party should not have a criminal background. He or she should be able to write and read Kannada language. Except Rs 20 as membership fee, we will not take anything else from them. Anyone with a mindset to fight for the rights of people will be given ticket in Udupi constituency if they are willing to contest,"
