Mangaluru, Apr 13: Konaje station police on Friday April 13 arrested three persons in connection to the cattle theft that happened at Amrithadhara, Punyakoti, Kairangala in Konaje police station limits on March 29.
A case of the theft was registered in the police station on the basis of complaint by Rajaram Bhat.
The arrested are Ahmed Kabir, resident of M J M, Kasaba Bengre, Aboobacker Siddiq alias Karpe Siddiq, Paivalike, Manjeshwar and Mohammed Imran, Millathnagar, Ullal.
Rajaram Bhat along with others had observed indefinite fast against the theft of cows. The fast generated much response, and lasted over a week until the administration finally convinced Rajaram Bhat to break the fast.
Police also seized a car bearing KA 01 MB 1253 number and other items used by the accused in the theft.
Police gathered more information after questioning them of cattle thefts from cow sheds in Ullal, Kankanady, Vittal and Konaje. They are on the lookout for the remaining accused who are absconding.
The operation was conducted by investigation officers, Konaje police inspector Prakash B S, PSI Ravi Peeru Pawar, PSI Shanker Nayari, staff and Mangaluru south sub division anti rowdy squad in the leadership of Mangaluru south sub division ACP Rama Rao.
