Mangaluru/Udupi: Armed border force conducts route march ahead of elections

Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 11: As part of preparations for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly elections, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), or armed border force in collaboration with Konaje station police conducted a route march in several places at Konaje on the evening of Wednesday, April 11.

The route march started at Belma panchayat premises in Deralakatte, and proceeded from Natekal to Kalkatta, Tudogoli to Hoo Hakuva Kallu, Mudipu Navodaya School to Kayargoli and from Boliar to Chelur.

The march was held to promote harmony and ensure peace ahead of the elections.

Sashastra Seema Bal battalion commandant Prathiksha, assistant commandant Abhishek Singh, Lalith Dohal, Konaje police station’s Prakash P, ASI Ramachandra and Konaje police station staff led the march. Eighty soldiers, diamond battalion, two CPR of Konaje police station and highway patrol took part in the march.

In Udupi, the SSB armed force held a route march from Jodukatte to Rajangana via Lion's circle, Diana circle, service bus stand, and Kalsanka. The march was led by Udupi SP Laxman Nimbargi. Over a hundred SSB personnel were part of the march.
