Mangaluru/Udupi, Apr 10: In Dakshina Kannada district nine model code of conduct violation cases have been registered so far. This includes a case against district-in-charge minister Ramanath Rai as well as RSS Leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat.
On March 29, Ramanath Rai along with Chandprakash Shetty, Ramakrishna Alva, Abbas Ali and Baby Kundar attended an open meeting at Pallamajalu in Bantwal without taking prior permission from the concerned authority. flying squad officer Mohan filed a complaint. RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has been booked for holding meeting on April 6 at Kairangala villlage in Bantwal taluk without prior permission. 10 model code of conduct violations in Udupi
In Udupi, the district election commission has registered a total of 10 FIRs regarding violation of model code of conduct. Four case related to confiscation of unaccounted cash.
In a press meet held on April 9, Udupi deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis said that if people possess large amounts of cash, they need to have valid documentation.
The EC has seized Rs 5,87,700 in four different cases, as people did not have valid documentation. If the people concerned submit documentation, the cash would be returned. As many as 10 excise licenses have been suspended by the district election commission, she added.
Regarding the game CD found among the material released by the district administration on voter awareness, the DC said that the matter would be carefully examined.
