Mangaluru, Apr 9: An FIR has been filed in Konaje police station here against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat over his controversial statement against minister U T Khader.
Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat during the recent fast-unto-death protest at Amritadhara Goshale, Kairangala, Bantwal had resorted to verbal assaults on minister U T Khader, questioning whether it was right to invite him to a temple programme and stating that any temple that Khader entered should be 'cleansed'.
This apart, Bhat had also allegedly spoken against the Election Commission and ridiculed the model code of conduct.

The FIR was registered against Prabhakar Bhat under IPC section 153 (A) and RP Act 125 for allegedly holding meetings without obtaining permission from the election commission and thus violating the election code of conduct.
Dakshina Kannada district Congress leaders had complained against Prabhakar Bhat alleging that he had violated the election code of conduct by speaking ill about the Election Commission and election procedures. Congress leaders also alleged that Bhat tried to disrupt harmony in the district and urged that he be arrested till the completion of elections.
