Kundapur, Aug 29: Suresh S Poojary, president, Sukhsagar group of hotels, has been selected for the 'Kundaprabha' Karanth award this year.  The award is being given in recognition of his hard work, perseverance, and foresight , which have helped Poojary suceed not only as an individual but also as a benefactor of the community.

Previous recipients of the award include K N Dandily, freedom fighter, Kundapura Karunakara, scientist, P Sadanada Mayya, chief of M T R, Vaishali Kasaravalli, actress and film director, Dr Subhashchandra Shetty, president, Confident Dental Equipment Ltd, Lesley Caravaloh, journalist, Dundiraj, poet, and Harikrishna Punarura, former president, Kannada Sahitya Parishad.

The award will be conferred on Poojary on September 27 at the Rotary Laxminarasimha Kalamandira of Kundapur Government Junior College. Poojary is also the president of Mumbai Billava Jagrathi Balaga and the honorary president of Billava welfare associations of Kundapur and Mumbai.
