Mangaluru, Apr 4: Corporator Prathibha Kulai on Wednesday April 4 hit out at the BJP for misusing her photo in their 'chargesheet' against the Congress government and said that such an 'irresponsible' party should not be voted to power. She also said that she would be filing a defamation suit against BJP leaders.
Addressing a press meet here, she said that she will file defamation suit against union minister Ravishankar, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa and MP Shobha Karandhlaje in civil court for misusing her image.
"A chargesheet published by the BJP and released by its union minister Ravishankar Prasad has several allegations against the Congress party. The chargesheet mentions that sari worn by a women corporator of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) was pulled to say women do not have security. They have misused my image in the pamphlet on this particular point. Hence I will file a defamation suit in the civil court against the three and will decide on how much to demand as damages after discussing with my lawyer".
When asked if the BJP apologized to her, Prathibha said, "No, they have not apologised. It is not in their nature to apologise for their mistakes. If they mistakenly used my image, then I can only urge people not to vote for such an irresponsible party which cannot even manage to print an error-free book. If this is their condition, how can they lead the state?"
Prathibha Kulai had earlier filed a complaint with the city police commissioner on the same matter.
