Mangaluru, Mar 28: The anti-rowdy squad led by Mangaluru South sub-divisional ACP Rama Rao on Wednesday March 28 arrested an absconding person in connection to murder attempt and ganja cases.
Imthiyaz, a resident of Mullugudde was arrested at Ajinadka at Kotekar here.
Based on credible information that Imthiyaz and another accused identified as Azeez alias Abdul Azeez were going around in an Activa selling ganja in the vicinity of Nettilapadavu under Konaje police limits, the anti-rowdy squad had raided the spot and found 10.25 kg of ganja packed in sachets, with the two accused waiting for customers. On sighting the police, both of them fled. The police managed to nab Azeez, but Imthiyaz went absconding.
In a case filed in Ullal police station, Imthiyaz is accused of attempting to murder a person named Pachila Azeez and then going absconding.
Apart from that, he is an accused in other cases registered in Ullal, Konaje and Kavoor police stations.
The accused has been handed over to Konaje police for further investigations.
