Mangalore: Section 144 in Place at Troubled Pachanady Hill

Mangalore: Section 144 in Place at Troubled Pachanady Hill
Daijiworld Media Network—Mangalore (MM/CN)

Mangalore, Aug 25: Security has been beefed up at Pachanady hill, on Sunday, August 24, after miscreants desecrated the grotto which was under construction and snatched the statue of Mother Mary. They also planted flags of Hindu organizations on the hill.

Section 144, that was clamped on Saturday, August 23, remained in force even on Sunday.  Catholic community leaders have decided to report the matter to district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar. A community delegation will meet the minister after he arrives from Bangalore, sources added.

Meanwhile, the Bajrang Dal has alleged that the crosses were erected illegally on Pachanady hill. This is nothing but an effort to encroach on government land, said Bajrang Dal activists.

The encroachment issue has been brought to the notice of the tahshildar. All support will be extended to the struggle of locals against conversion, said Sharan Pumpwell, convener of Bajrang Dal.

It is a well planned attack. We will have some more in the days to come. The present govt.had promissed thousands of jobs to the unemployed youth. These are the jobs available right now, as the govt has enhanced the age of retirement.Fanaticism of this nature serves two purposes-keep the cadre active, keep the chair intact. The police are sleeping-standing up.

Dear brothers, let us not hurt the sentiments of our Hindu brothers because of the acts of a handful fanatics by calling them Hindu fanatics. These miscreants are enemies of Hindus too. Basically they are disgruntled in life because they are not educated, they are school outs, do not have good jobs and are looked down upon by their own families.

So if they see a decent Hindu brother driving a good car the first thing that goes into their mind is "let us stone this car" "Who is this person to drive a car in front of us". Basically these people are invisible during normal days and come to the forefront when there is some bundh to draw attention and threaten everybody irrespective of their religion.

My Hindu friends tell me about this. Their agenda is not Christian specific. They will target anybody who they dont like. Hindus are more ashamed than ourselves because of their acts.

What about places of worship on foot paths, gutters, roads & street corners. One has to see these in commercial cities like Delhi, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Surat, Mumbai. As if there is no place left for the GODS in our hearts & homes, that they should be confined to such dirtiest of places. Its all big business.

Law makers buy time by keeping us busy on all non-issues. Stupid Indians fall for the bait. Later, another incident, more blood is spilt, mothers, families grieve over their dead, property destroyed, all for the sake of Gods dwelling on foot paths & gutters. This has been going on for the last 61 independent years. Dear Indians, please introspect.

Have we elected a govt at state, which is sympathetic to bajrangis? 'maadidunno maharaya' says a Kannada saying. Conciously the coastal belt has been encouraging the communual divide for a while now, may be things are on the verge of getting out of hand and the elected representatives and religious heads have to do some soul searching.

Really speaking no one can be converted without their own will , The saffron brigade is concerned about poor hindus why don't they provide them with food shelter and education and a good life ? All they wan't is to vent anger to their selfish stupid and jealous nature , let them proclaim their religious good things and convert Christians, Jains and Buddist.

They can't do it because they are not sure of their own faith a day may come god will open their eyes to the reality and they too will know who is reall creator Living GOD bless them. Amen

It's really shocking to see, this issue is Govt and place of worship not a organization. Home ministry should take further step to avoid any conflict between religious community. Karnataka and specially Mangalore is peace loving state and religious people leave together with brotherhood. Dear commentators give a good comments to slove this issue instead of burning words which is hurting to everybody.

Please do not invite curse on our beautiful land of Mangalore.Let the Catholics do their worship/prayer and let others perform their religious rituals .Donot disturb others and see that Mangalore remains same as our old Mangalore

Let politicians come from other states and say anything. They want our state to ruin by creating infighting between the people of our own state.Beware and take care of our kannadiga brothers whether they are hindus, muslims or christians.

Dear sir: I really do not keep in my home or wear cross. I am a born again Christian. But it is none of our business to destroy or pull down the crosses erected by Roman Catholics or anyone. It is their faith. If some one did not like it leave them alone. India does not belong to Bajrang or vishwa hindu parishad. Every Indian has the constitutional rights of freedom of speech, freedom of religion. Let the Governemnt of Karnatake take severe action on Bajran or any other miscreants and ban them to maintain peace and harmony in our Nation of India.

I call upon all Christians, muslims and Dalits to come to one single platform and fight these radicals and establish peace and harmony in the society. Only peace, love and co existence shall lead to prosperity and happy civilized society. Shame on those who have tried to disturb the communual harmony and peace in the name of religion.

I have one more question, does the land belong to Bajrang Dsl? Why they have planted Safron flag and why not the Tricolor Indian flag. Who gave them the authority? Do they have the mandate to police on other religions? What the state administration is doing. Are we following anarchy and lawlessness?
