Udupi, Aug 24: Thousands flocked to the Krishna Leelotsav at Sri Krishna Math here on Sunday, August 24, where Muddu Krishna competitions were held for little children, alongwith dances by an all-woman troupe from Mumbai. The Krishna Mukhyaprana Seva Samiti had organized free food offerings and 'huli vesha' (tiger dance) by various groups were held at the Sri Krishna Math amidst tight security with devotees thronging the car street.













The presence of former Miss India Yuktha Mokhey, and sandalwood actor Doddanna, added glamour to the various programmes. Sri Sugunendrateerta Swamiji of Paryaya Puttige Math, Sri Raghumanyateerta Swamiji of Bhimanakatte Math, and Sri Laxmivarateerta Swamiji of Shiroor Math, graced the occasion and showered blessings on the devotees.







The idol of Lord Krishna was carried on a golden chariot through car street and was immersed in the Madhwa lake, after a week-long worship, on Sunday evening. Devotees were offered delicacies prepared traditionally during Janmashtami.
