Kuwait, Mar 11: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) will be hosting the semi-finals and the grand finale of Gulf Voice of Mangalore (GVOM) - Season 6 later this year. The preliminary round will be held on Friday April 13 at Indian Community School, Khaitan from 3.30 pm onwards.
After the auditions, six male and six female singers will be selected for the semi-finals. The Gulf Voice of Mangalore competition is open to all Konkani speaking people of Mangalorean origin, holding a valid Kuwait residence visa, born on or before April 13, 2000. The title holders of the previous five seasons of GVOM are restricted from participating in this season. However, the runners-up of all the previous seasons are permitted to try for the title once again this year.
The semi-finals of Gulf Voice of Mangalore - Season 6 will be held on September 21, 2018 at the American International School auditorium from 3 pm onwards. One male and one female finalist from Kuwait will be selected on this day and they will be participating in the grand finale to be held in Kuwait itself on November 9 this year for the coveted title of 'GVOM-6'.
Initiated by Lawrence Pinto and the late Louis Rodrigues from Kuwait in 2008, GVOM has become a sensation among Mangalureans worldwide. Kuwait’s singing talents have won the coveted title of GVOM in all the five seasons - winner of Season 1 (Vinay Lewis), female title winner of Season 2 (Gladys Lorena), male runner-up of Season 2 (Warren D’Souza), male title winner of Season 3 (Orson D'Souza), male title winner of Season 4 (Morvine Quadras) and female title winner of Season 5 (Joyline Gonsalves).
KCWA has requested all the talented Mangalureans in the Gulf to participate in this reality singing talent hunt show 'Gulf Voice of Mangalore Season 6' and to make it as successful as the previous five seasons of GVOM.
