UAE: Jebel Ali Assisi Konkani Community to Present "Konkan Dabazo"

UAE, Aug 17: The  Jebel Ali Assisi Konkani Community will be presenting 'Konkan Dabazo', an evening of Konkani songs and dance at St Clare and Assisi Halls, Jebel Ali Parish, UAE, at 6.30 pm on September 18, 2008.

The JAKC  is organizing this event for the second consecutive year. Vincent Fernandes Cascia, noted Konkani composer and singer will be entertaining the audience with a programme of music, dance and fun, titled 'Mogachi Lharan' ( Waves of Love)

Vincent has already released 5 volumes of this famous brand and is expected to release a Kannada CD at the Konkan Dabazo program. John Monteiro, President of JAKC has promised that there will be some surprise in store by Vincent.

Special attractions of the evening will be a fashion show for all girls over the age of 15 to exhibit their costumes and skills. Registration forms for the fashion show will be available online soon on daijiworld.com

Uttam Menezes Bendore, well-known  around UAE will take charge of compering the show.

John Monteiro, the  dynamic president of the association while announcing  the event to daijiworld said that  JAKC is committed to promote Konkani language and culture with the support from his team members as well as the community members of Jebel Ali.

He promised an entertaining evening on Sep 18, 2008. He recalled the success of Dabazo-2007, last year which for the  first time JAKC organised  a Konkani cultural event.
