Mangaluru, Mar 7: A youth from Mukka, who was a member of a five-member group which had gone to visit a waterfall near Bengaluru died on Monday March 5 while trying to save the life of a friend.
The victim of this accident was Sahil Hussain (21) from Mukka near here. He was pursuing BBM course at a college in Bengaluru and was a final year student.
It is said that Sahil was a member of a team of five friends which went to see the waterfall on Monday. One of the young men in the team fell into the water and Sahil instantly jumped into the water to rescue him. He could not get out of water and died on the spot, family sources stated.
His body reached Mukka on Tuesday. After the Isha namaz at night the same day, Mayyit namaz was performed at the Mukka mosque.
Sahil was the only son of Zakir Hussain, the other four being daughters. He was the last among Zakir's children. Zakir is employed in Muscat and immediately after coming to know about the tragedy, he came on Monday.
Sahil happens to be the grandson of Katipalla corporator, Basheer.
