Bengaluru, Mar 7: A mother-son duo of north Karnataka origin died after falling down from the fifth floor of an apartment complex at Belathur, Kadugodi here on Tuesday March 6.
The deceased were Sundaramma (60) from Shahapur in Yadgir district, and her son, Mounesh (36). The fact that they fell from the flat belonging to Chandrappa, working as inspector in Kolar district crime intelligence bureau, has given rise to a number of doubts.
Mounesh, working as conductor for Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation at Yadgir, was in love with Manjula, sister of Chandrappa, it is said. Their love was mutual. Chandrappa had invited the mother-son duo to the city five days back to speak about this matter, it is gathered.
Manjuula was studying in Yadgir in the past, and both knew each other. Manjula had later come to Bengaluru. When she went back to Yadgir for appearing for B Ed examination, she had fallen in love with Mounesh, it is said. After they came to know about this, parents of Manjula had advised Mounesh to stay away from Manjula and had issued him warning. Still, the two had once eloped, it is said.
The family of Manjula is dead against the alliance as Mounesh belongs to a caste which is other than the girl's. Moreover, he had been married once. In the past too, Chandrappa, who was working as inspector in Kadugodi police station then, had summoned Mounesh to the station and issued him warning in this matter, it is said.
