Bantwal, Mar 6: "Only Hindu priests have to be nominated as for 'Datta Peeta' and not Moulvi. If the government goes against the feelings of Hindus and nominates Moulvis, then BJP will hold fierce protests," said M Prahlad Joshi, MP and former president of state BJP.
He was at B C Road on account of 'Jana Suraksha Yatra' and addressed the journalists.
Continuing his accusation against Congress, Joshi said, "During the elections, the government, in order to appease the Muslims, is deceiving both Muslims as well as Hindus."
In response to a question on Ashok Kheny joining the Congress party, the MP said, "This is an example of the Congress party trying to attract rich and cheaters to their party during the election time."
Joshi condemned the attempt of certain organizations to impose Urdu and urged the government to take a clear stand on this matter and respect the Kannada language.
Congress is scared of 'Jana Suraksha Yatra'
"The childish statements made by the Ramanath Rai, district-in-charge minister, is proof enough that 'Jana Suraksha Yatra' undertaken by BJP has sent shivers down the spine of Congress party," chided Joshi.
To a query on the statement given by Ramanath Rai, district-in-charge minister that Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is involved in the four political murders that have taken place in Bantwal, Prahlad Joshi replied that "If such mistakes have happened, let them take action. The government is run by Congress party itself."
