Kundapur, Mar 5: "The situation in Karnataka is such that it is not possible to chant Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai here. One wonders if Karnataka is in Pakistan or Bangladesh," said BJP Karnataka in-charge Muralidhar Rao.
Addressing BJP's Mangaluru Chalo 'Jana Suraksha Yatra' that reached Kundapur here on Monday March 5, Rao said, "There is no safety for people under Siddaramaiah-led government. Who can be safe when rapists, goondas and killers are supported by the government? The Suraksha rally is a war against the government and terrorism. PFI and SDPI are trying to divide the country. The Siddaramaiah-led Congress government is standing by such organizations.
"Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was one of the most sincere leaders of Congress. But the party did not celebrat his birth anniversary. The government has been commemorating Tipu Sultan Jayanti. Home minister Ramalinga Reddy is favouring killers. He says he would have instilled peace in Karnataka if he was given the post of home minister two years ago. Wasn't the candidate of the same party the home minister two years ago? Congress is involved in all kinds of mafias in the state. Those in the lists of culprits in police stations are Congress leaders. That is why they are preparing to release killers and the corrupt. While the government of Siddaramaiah is supporting the corrupt, Modi is against them. BJP is necessary for corruption free country. Congress has already lost in all places. It will lose in Karnataka also. Congress has lost wherever Rahul Gandhi has visited. The debacle will repeat in Karnataka also," he said.
Opposition leader in the Legislative Council Eshwarappa made a personal attack on chief minister Siddarmaiah and said, "Siddaramaiah did not speak even after Hindu youths were murdered. Would he have remained silent if he had seen the garland around the portrait of his own son? You had called Indira Gandhi an 'international whore' when you were with Deve Gowda. Now you are struggling in the saree pallu of Sonia Gandhi. Don't you feel ashamed?"
Earlier, union minister Menaka Gandhi inaugurated Jana Suraksha rally at Kundapur Sangam circle. It traversed through Kundapur main roads and culminated at Shastri circle.
Kadur Suresh Shetty welcomed. Sadananda Balkur thanked.
K Jayaprakash Hegde, MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, former MLA Halady Srinivas Shetty, Shyamala Kunder, Kiran Kodgi, Yashpal Suvarna, district president Mattaru Rathnakar Hegde, Naveen Kuthyar, Udayakumar Shetty, Bharathi Shetty and others were present.
Byndoor
After traversing through Kundapur, the rally reached Byndoor, where Eshwarappa addressing a meeting at Uppunda said, "Chief minister Siddaramaiah is responsible for the murders of more than twenty Hindu activists in the state during the last four-and-a-half years. However, he is making arrogant statements instead of admitting his fault and apolozising to the people. The behaviour is not suitable for the who should be protecting six-and-a-half crore people. Jana Suraksha rally is being organized to throw out the evil government."
Launching a tirade against Siddaramaiah, he said, "Tipu Sultan's blood runs in Siddaramaiah. The chief minister has the hidden motive of appeasing the Muslims with his devotion to Tipu. The same motive is hidden behind withdrawing cases against activists of anti-national outfits and trying to take over Maths and places of worship.
"Siddaramaiah's chair is unstable. He divides people on the basis of religion making them fight, only to strengthen his own position. The differences created between Lingayat and Veerashaivas is a part of this plan. Therefore, the people in the state should throw out this government and bring to power BJP, led by Narendra Modi, a genuine Hindu who treats all religions equally. Congress government here should be destroyed like the Left in Tripura," he said.
Sunil Kumar, MLA of Karkala and state Mahila Morcha president Bharati Shetty also spoke. Kamalakara Mesta, father of Paresh Mesta who died in Honnavar said that he has still not got justice for the murder of his son.
