Bantwal, Feb 24: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai informed on Friday, February 23 that Rs 35 crore has been released for various development works in Bantwal.
Speaking to reporters in his office he said that special fund of Rs 14.5 crore has been released from Public Works Department for the development of rural roads. He said, “Rs 7 crore for backward class colony approach roads, Rs 7 crore for the development of rural roads, Rs 43.9 lac for construction of school classrooms and Rs 4 crore for roads in colonies of scheduled class and scheduled tribes is included in it.
“Rs 2 crore has been released for third stage of Bantwal council development. With the release of funds, as many as 16 works are expected to be completed. Rs one crore has been provided for pyrolysis machine for simple scientific processing of waste. The machine will be installed at Kanchinadka hill. I have completed my responsibilities in the constituency.
“Rs 14.5 crore has been released including Rs 2 crore each for the development of Agaragandi-Hegganaguli-Nekkilapalke-Uli road, Kanyana-Bolpade road, Khandigagrass-Serkala-Madaka-Kudthamugeru road, Rs 2.5 crore for Karaje-Kuchugudde-Mithamajalu Kantadi-Kudooru-Kolake road, Rs 2.5 crore for Halegetu-Knapade-Allipade road, Rs 2 crore for Peruvaru -Kalpane- Badagabellur-Kirale-Ermal road and, Rs 1.5 crore for Devaragudde, Kalkuta, Polali road. Plans to conduct 86 works are in progress. Work is in progress,” he said.
Rs 7 crore for repairs of rural roads
“Approval for repairs of roads in rural area coming under rural development and panchayat raj department worth Rs 7 crore has been obtained and the works have started. Roads that are not repaired for long time will be identified and re-tarred. Rs 132.50 lac has been released for construction of classrooms in government high schools for the year 2017-18. Rs 26.50 lac is fixed for government high school, Manchi Kolnad. The work will start soon. Rs 8.7 lac will be released for construction of class room for Kodangai government higher primary school, and Rs 8.7 lac have been released for classroom for government higher primary school, Kanyana.
“Rs 4 crore has been released for roads to the colonies of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe. Rs 2 crore each will be released for construction of nine concrete roads concerning scheduled class and scheduled tribe,” he said.
Ground breaking for Tree Park on Feb 26
Rai said that a plan is being prepared for a Tree Park to introduce animals and life of rural area. “The foundation for the Tree Park will be laid on February 26,” he said.
Inauguration of RTO office on Feb 27
“Minister of transport, H M Revanna will inaugurate temporary office of the RTO at Melcar Birva center on February 27,” he said.
Ground breaking for bus stand on Feb 28
“The foundation stone for private bus stand near B C Road taluk panchayat old building will be laid on February 28. A private bus stand has been demanded by people for quite long now. It will be fulfilled in PPP model at a cost of Rs 20 crore,” he said.
President of municipal council P Ramakrishna Alva, vice-president Mohammed Nandarabettu, Buda president Sadashiva Bangera, APMC president Padmanabha Rai and Congress leader Janardhan Chandthimar were present.
