Sultanate of Oman to introduce new visa rules from March 21

Muscat, Feb 22: Travellers to Sultanate of Oman will have to apply for a tourism visa online in a move that is expected to affect hundreds of thousands of visitors from the UAE annually. The visa has to be applied in advance.

Earlier, most travellers could obtain a visa on arrival, either at an airport or border post, though the e-visa system launched last year. It allowed them to choose between the two types of application until now.

Omani government on Wednesday announced that applications for tourist visas, including express visas, can only be made online through http://evisa.rop.gov.om. The announcement clearly says that visas will not be received at the visa service desk.

According to the Royal Oman Police website, to obtain an e-visa, visitors must register with a username and password, and then select their choice of visa before payment.

    I still remember going to Oman by road & there is 40 kms distance from UAE check post to Oman check post. So the land in between which is called Buraimi is controlled by Oman but is like part of both UAE & Oman. I heard it was gifted by UAE to Oman in olden days. Oman is a beautiful country but unlike UAE it doesn't have much modern buildings except for the city center Ruwi.

    Oman is a peaceful country ..and Omanis are an example of people following traditions based on peace and humbleness.,and tolerance
    It may not have modern buildings ,but it is not a tool or bench mark to measure beauty or happiness of the people of any country.
    It has a larger geographical area than UAE and has numerous pristine beaches and unspoiled mountainous terrain which is ideal for a weekend barbeque or hiking enthusiasts. It also has one of the worlds Largest turtle breeding beach at sur.

    This is truly Modi effect.

    This is to avoid Fekus entering into their country. After Modi visit and Modi’s exit from india Omani’s realized extent of Fekuism .

    Now onwards they will scrutinize details of persons entering into their country thru online application.

    Once again remind you all FEKUS have no chance.
