Kundapur: Man convicted for rape and murder of pregnant woman

Kundapur, Feb 14: Kundapur district and sessions court has convicted a man for the rape and inhuman murder of a pregnant woman that shocked the coastal Karnataka three years ago. The court will pronounce the sentence on February 20.

Details of the incident

Prashanth Mogaveera, a sex maniac, had come to the house of Moodugopadi resident, pregnant woman Indira on April 11, 2015 on the pretext of requesting for drinking water. Prashanth had raped the woman, killed her by throwing a boulder on her and robbed her necklace.

Kundapur police, who saw him fleeing with blood soaked clothes, had arrested him. As he had raped and killed the woman in the most inhuman way, the court had rejected bail for him.

Special government prosecutor Ravikiran Murdeshwar argued in the case.

As all the allegations against him were proved, the court convicted him.

    Kusuma Kumari G. Nellore: Madam, No, NO, If this guy is hanged till death, the matter is over. He should be tortured in all the possible manner till he dies a natural death . Then only he will understand the pain of that pregnant woman and the innocent life in the womb. Even wild animals do not rape and kill a pregnant animals. He raped and murdered. Unfit to live in this motherland India. Torture him, torture him. If any Human Right Organization makes hue and cry over this issue, they should also be tortured. Jai Hind

    How it is will be a good solution by torturing him. It is good to keep him away from streets. But allowing him to live just for the purpose of torturing him doesn't make sense. Justice should be such a way that it should example for others and it should be warning as well. Revenge must be of last choice.

    This guy, for that matter any person who indulge in rape and murder of a pregnant woman/any woman does not need any Mercy either from the Court or Public. He should be tortured till his death and then only he will understand the pain and agony of a that pregnant woman/any woman. Jai Hind

    @Edward M.Kulshekar, we need not worry about his Punishment,or hanging.When he is once in jail his comates will bring it to end such a accused one,or a child murderer.He will come to know the pain there with all vareitys.He needs such a punishment.Put him in a jail where only murderers sit.Or best give him to Public.

    Are these lawyers Humans , how they can take up such cases on behalf of the murderer and fight in the court.
    there are many horrific cases across country where it simply puts humanity in shame ,and here some great lawyers come in defending the culprits.

    Rape of 8 month baby
    Rape of 13 yr old & fire
    Rape of pregnant woman.
