Mangaluru: Man dies after falling into uncovered drain, MLA Bava takes contractor to task

Mangaluru, Feb 11: A 35-year-old man died after accidentally falling into an uncovered drain at Katipalla, Krishnapura here late night on Saturday February 10.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan (35), a resident of Katipalla first block.

It is learnt that Mohan fell into the uncovered drain at Katipalla and suffered serious injuries. He was admitted to the local hospital but did not respond to treatment.

Locals have alleged that Mohan lost his life due to the negligence of the contractor.

MLA Mohiuddin Bava visited Mohan in the hospital. He then called up the contractor on phone and took him to task.

Suratkal police have registered a case.

    Yenudurla bava, I agree the contractor is responsible for some extent for the death, also this is your gimmick for the elections. There are many potholes in Bengaluru and Mangaluru, I’m sure also in other cities in Karnataka, due to which there are many accidents and deaths. Did you ever question your boss Mr Siddaramaiah? Stop targeting only the contractor, you all are equally responsible

    Moidin bhava speaks only no action.. he cried and promised a lot when deepak was murdered, still those promises not come into reality..
