Mangaluru: Bengaluru-Karwar/Kannur night train to take new route

Mangaluru, Feb 9: The Bengaluru - Karwar/Kannur night train will begin to move via Kunigal - Shravanabelagola for four days in a week commencing from Saturday February 10.

The south-western railway has published the new time table as per which the train will leave Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna railway station at Bengaluru at 7.15 pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. It will reach Hassan at 11.05 pm and touch the city central station at 6 am. It will move towards Karwar at 6.20 am, reach Udupi at 7.52 am, Kundapur at 8.25 am, and Karwar at 12.30 pm. The train to Kannur will leave the central station at 7.05 am and reach Kannur at 10 am.

The new route saves about 90 km distance for the train.

On its return journey, the train will leave city central station at 9.10 am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, reach Hassan at 2.45 am and reach Bengaluru at 6.55 am.

On Sundays, Mondays and Tuesday, the train will move from Bengaluru via Mysuru and Hassan to reach Mangaluru. There will not be any change in the current timing of this train, railway sources said.
