Bengaluru, Jan 31: "Rumour mills are active in the state. Information about BJP indulging in talks with Asadullah Owaisi and state unit of the party getting jittery over the list of star campaigners etc are far away from truth," noted BJP spokesperson, Suresh Kumar. He was addressing a press meet here on Tuesday January 30.
"BJP has not yet prepared the list of star campaigners. This list has not yet been dispatched to state unit of the party. Therefore, the question of allotting numbers in order of eminence does not rise. At the same time, BJP has never been in talks with Owaisi. Our party is neither in need of such a move nor are we interested in it. Both these informations were floated with some ulterior purpose which took roots the minds of the rumour mongers. If the sources of these news items were provided, they could have gained some credibility," he felt.
Kumar felt that the only aim of those who manufactured these reports was to sully the image of BJP and to create confusion in the party's leadership.
Commenting on home minister, Ramalinga Reddy's statement that he has proof about BJP and Owaisi talking to each other, Kumar recalled that two months back, Reddy had claimed that the investigating agencies had zeroed in on the killers of Gauri Lankesh. "His speaking style continues to be the same. I pity the state home minister. Those who are unable to face the truth and strength to assimilate it talk like this. He does not seem to be aware that BJP is being patronized by Muslim women," he stated.
Suresh Kumar added that the way Gauri Day was held, it looked like an election programme sponsored for the specific aim of deriding BJP and Prime Minister, Modi. He pointed out that not a single speaker was worried about the failure of the state government in arresting the killers. Everyone harped on condemning Modi and the BJP, forgetting the purpose for which the progamme was held, he observed.
Suresh Kumar noted that a speaker said at the programme that people who killed Gandhi had murdered Gauri now. "When Rahul Gandhi had made similar charge in the past, a case had been registered. This time too they may be booked. I advice them to stop telling lies," he said. About freedom fighter, H S Doreswamy's claim during his address that the killers of Gauri were from Dakshina Kannada district, he wondered why he did not give this information to the home department if the information he has is reliable enough.
