Chikkamagaluru: MLA C T Ravi gets death threat through letter

Chikkamagaluru, Jan 31: Local MLA, C T Ravi, who also happens to be the general secretary of state BJP, has received a letter threatening to eliminate him. He handed over a complaint in this connection after meeting district superintendent of police, K Annamalai, on Tuesday January 30.

It is gathered that the letter reached Ravi's home on Monday. The letter, which was unsigned, was posted from Bengaluru. It has been sent in the name of Ahlehadees group of Karnataka, Lal Masjid, Shivajinagar.

A xerox copy of the photo of a person was found to have been enclosed to the said letter. The enclosed picture bears the name, Rowdy Parveen. The letter mentions the name of Rowdy Parveen several times, and it claims that he was the one who eliminated Deepak Rao from Mangaluru. The letter accuses Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and BJP of killing Dabholkar, Pansare, Gauri Lankesh, and Kalaburagi.

Ravi went to the office of the superintendent of police, K Annamalai, along with the letter, and urged him to take suitable action and initiate steps against the guilty. Annamalai later told the media persons that a case stands registered on the basis of the letter and that a special team headed by police inspector has been formed to investigate the case.

Ravi has been provided with 'Y' cat eategory security as of now. Annamalai said additional security would be extended to the MLA and the case is being pursued in all seriousness.
