Mangaluru, Jan 12: Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajrang Dal on Friday January 12 strongly condemned chief minister Siddaramaiah's remark terming BJP and RSS leaders as 'terrorists'.
Addressing a press meet here, VHP working president M B Puranik said, "We strongly condemn the remark of chief minister Siddaramaiah terming Sangh Parivar as 'terrorists'. Being in a responsible position, he should not have said it. Siddaramaiah should take back his words. Ours is an organisation that is known for its patriotism. We are not traitors. During the recent convention at Moodbidiri, instead of speaking about the works of his government, Siddaramaiah criticised the BJP and the Sangh Parivar throughout.
"The state government is following anti-Hindu policy and has utterly failed in restraining cow slaughter and love Jihad in the coastal region. Despite several visits to Udupi, Siddaramaiah did not visit Pejawar Swamiji, so what makes him a Hindu? The government has stopped supply of food to Shree Rama school and also denied supply of food from Kollur temple to Dharma Sansad. But how was it possible for him to get temple food for the Congress political convention at Udupi?" he questioned.
Earlier in the day, leaders of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal met the home minister at the office of the city police commissioner and held discussions with him for ten minutes. They presented a petition seeking action against love Jihad and slaughter of cows besides demanding a ban on Popular Front of India (PFI). The home minister accepted the petition and held discussions with leaders.
VHP district president Jagadish Shenava, Bajrang Dal leader Sharan Pumpwell, Gopal Kutthar, Bujanga Kulal and others were present.
