Bangalore: Expelled BJP MP Sangliana’s Office Attacked

Bangalore, Jul 24: Around 60 workers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday staged a protest against cross-voting by Bangalore North MP H.T. Sangliana. They later went to his office on Ali Askar Road and attacked it. The party workers reportedly damaged a board and broke a window pane.

Shankar Bidari, Commissioner of Police, said that Sangliana had contacted him early Tuesday and sought protection for his office and residence. Accordingly, police pickets were posted near his office and residence at Koramangala National Games Village. When party workers tried to barge into the office, an official prevented them from entering. However, three or four persons sneaked into the compound and tried to kick open the door, but were stopped by the police. A case has been registered in this regard at the Cubbon Park Police Station.

Bidari visited the spot along with Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) M.R. Pujar. A police party has also been posted near the residence of Manjunath Kunnur, Dharwad South MP.

Earlier in Parliament:

There was commotion in the Lok Sabha soon after voting on Tuesday evening when some State BJP MPs surrounded H T Sangliana and tried to manhandle him for violating the party whip.

According to the former Bangalore police commissioner, State BJP chief D V Sadananda Gowda and other party MPs G M Siddeshwar, Prahlad Joshi and Ananth Kumar Hegde rushed to his seat and tried to push him and abused him in filthy language. Sangliana said he was not afraid of anybody and wished that these leaders learned how to behave properly in public. He said he went with his conscience and voted in favour of the government because “India needs N-energy because power is the lever to the development of the country”.

Dony Lobo has given classic comment. It is true, if above people knew about this Dignified and sincere person, they are not only fit to clean his shoes but also not fit to kiss his shoes. I wish these goondas are fit to beg in the streets with broken legs & hands. Jude has explained to Vishal & Shetty about Patriotism & Money talks.

BJP's patriotism has gone along with our Very good EX-PM AB Vajpayee. He was the real patriot in BJP. Money always doesn't talk in front of Sincerity & Dignity. Sangliana is a gem of a person. Money always talks like you people who think everytime narrow-mindedly. Read his life story during his tenure of service. Also please watch kannada movie "SP Sangliana" casted by late Shankar Nag.

Over the last forty or so years there have been very few police officers with a clean record like Julius Rebeiro, FTR Colaco, Nizamuddin (who married a handicapped girl by birth Laxmi ) and a few others like HTR Sangliana. In the photograph we see a person hitting Mr.Sangliana’s picture with his shoe and a white pant wearing person kicking his photo …… If only these people really knew as to the clean record of this bold and dignified cop Sangliana whose very name used to strike terror in the minds of anti-social elements whereever he was posted and due to which he was so popular and so well respected,if only they come to know of this, then they would have realized that they are not even fit to clean his shoes in the first place. If a party allows its workers to behave in this fashion, or does not permit its members to follow their conscience in times of crisis ..... then are we going back to the German era of the 40s....Nazism....????

Yes, Mr Vishal D'Souza, we saw the BJP patriotism while they were in power. I hope you had watched Mr Jaswant Singh on TV going to Afghanistan during the plane hijacking and practically crawling before the terrorists there. I hope you saw the attack on parliament while Mr Advani was the Home Minister. They blame the UPA for not controlling terrorism, but terrorism was rife while they were in power. What about the Gujarat riots.

Does inhuman butchery of defenceless innocent people make you a patriot?. I hope you understand what you are saying. Yes, i too once thought that the BJP should be given a chance and that they would provide better leadership. Yet, in the end all of us saw how good that leadership was. As far as economic growth was concerned while they were ruling, that credit should go to Mr. Narashima Rao and Mr Manmohan Singh, because they only built upon the foundation laid by these two earlier. Mr. Yeshwant Sinha was a very mediocre Finance Minister.

BJP is the party with "Goondas". Country is greater than personal benefit. How many crores have been given to the MLAs recently shifted allegiance to BJP. Why other party workers didn't attack the offices to those MLAs. BJP you need to live with the reality. We are living in country like India and I congratulate those who did favored the Nuclear deal which is vital for the development of our India.

All people congratulating Sangliana, but in front of crores nothing seems to be important! ultimately his political carrier will come to an end for sure. He made wrong decision by supporting UPA, may be he is right about Nuclear deal but he should follow the party orders. Ultimately he will suffer a lot in the coming days, actually he was enjoying in BJP, a true national party & people who support BJP are true patriots.

The Karnataka voters have given the key into the hands of wrong people. They were very bad passengers in the Kumaraswamy driven government. Now they are driving and the whole state has to suffer for next 5 years. Since L.K.Advani started the Ram Mandir issue, the sangh parivar played a very vital role in creating chaos in whole nation. The famous lawyer Ram Jetmalani had warned Advani about the consequences of the Ram Mandir issue and Rath Yathra but Advani could not stop because by that time Sangh Parivar was on the move to create a history by creating awareness between Hindu’s that they are Hindus.

The Hindus of India never had confusion on their religion and they were peaceful until then. A greater segment of people all of a sudden changed thoughts on their religion just because the Sangh parivar started an awareness campaign all over the nation with a slogan that was like ‘why to be scared to call ourselves as Hindu in a Hindu Nation’.

This was the point that many Hindu brothers joined the RSS and VHP movements and communal peace was disturbed all over India. Until then, our politicians never fought one the religious aspects. They were fighting only on the development issue of the country. We are setting a very bad example to the developed Nations. They are watching us live on the TV all over the world.

We Indians all over the word will be treated as special species just because they see our leaders fighting in the parliament. The world will think twice before they make any deal with us in any kind of business that we do with all over the world. Because our leaders showed bundles of money in the parliament that was claimed to be used for buying MP’s.The people all over the world will lose faith on Indians because our leaders are for sale and are ready to buy means the outside world will start doing bargain on our demands, our salaries, our prices and on all our monetary deals.

Dear Mr. Sanngliana, I being Indian unreservedly appreciate your guts, for defying BJP orders and stand in favour of nuclear deal. This is a national issue and you stood for the nation and I admire your courage. We need politicians who have no fear to raise their voice against the destroyers. It is unfortunate that the party of goons attacked your house, let’s forgive those goons, God will protect you.

Our friends in the BJP, BSP and Left have a very strange logic. Where their party MP's have voted for the UPA government it is money power, bribery and betrayal, but where the Congress MP's have voted against the government then it is conscience. Every speech made by UPA leaders was rubbish, but the rowdy behaviour of their partymen was national debate. Now they go and attack Mr. Sangliana's house. Should they be paid back by the same coin by congress workers attacking the houses of the MLA's in Karnataka whom they (BJP) bought like cattle recently.

I remember Sangliana as a true christian during his Asst. Supdt.of Police,SK days in Mangalore.I was quite surprised when he eventually moved over to politics and to the BJP. I am glad that he has a conscience that says that the people of the country comes first than political ideologies. Sangliana,God certainly moves in mysterious ways and may His peace be always upon you.

Well H.T Sangliana has followed his conscience and we as Indians need to follow our conscience if you must make India a global power house. We must realize that the nuclear deal is as good as the liberalization of our economy in 1991. Questions were raised by sceptics even back then but the whole world knows what liberalization did to the Indian economytoday we are on the threshold of becoming a super power and the same 'LEFT'who once opposed this liberalization of our economy are now probabaly eating in KFC , McDonald's driving Ford, Toyota's , drinking coke & pepsi. Looks like the BJP doesnt have the stomach to digest this.....perhaps they wanted to take the credit for this deal.

Sangliana has done the right thing by voting for UPA. This shows the maturity of the politician. True politics should consider the social gains of their actions rather than personal/party gains. Even Manorama has done good job. The people who protest against Sangaliana are innocents who dont read news papers(even they read them they dont have the maturity to understand the issues) and they are mislead by BJP leaders, who are fully aware of the power situations in the state and country as a whole.
