Mangaluru, Jan 9: Well-known construction house in the region, Marian Infrastructures will be conferred with the prestigious Association of Consulting Civil Engineering (India), ACCE (I) MLR-UltraTech Award for its landmark project St Zuze Vaz Home, Jeppu, in a grand function at Milagres hall on January 9.
Marian Infrastructures bagged the award under the category ‘Well-built Concrete Infrastructure’. The prestigious award will be received by project coordinator Fr William Menezes who is also the PRO of Mangaluru diocese and will be accompanied by project consultant Felix Albuquerque. It is a project promoted by the diocesan office to ensure a worry-free, comfortable life to retired priests. Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D’souza who inaugurated St Zuze Vaz Home in February 2017 had said that ‘It was a long time dream fulfilled’.

The landmark project 'St Zuze Vaz Home' at Jeppu was perfectly executed by Marian Infrastructures under the aegis of Ujwal D’Souza, director of operations, Marian Projects Pvt Ltd.
This building was designed by Saldanha & Associates with Anil Hegde being the structural engineer. The project was well executed by contractors Marian Infrastructures.
About St Zuze Vaz Home
St Zuze Vaz Home, a residential complex for retired priests of Mangaluru diocese was inaugurated on February 27, 2017 in a grand ceremony by Bishop of Mangaluru diocese Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza and a host of other priests.
The residential complex is located on a plot, measuring 0.99 acres at St Antony’s Charity Institute, Jeppu specially designed for the comfort and companionship of aging priests.
The building has a reception desk, waiting and meeting lounge and an ample area to take indoor and outdoor walks. There is a chapel which is a powerhouse for the priests presiding therein. There is a well spaced dining room with kitchen and store room. There is a library and reading room. There is also provision for medical care with in-house doctor and nurse.
There is accommodation for care-givers and helpers in the basement, also parking space. Spread over two floors, there are a total of 34 rooms on single-occupancy basis (407 sq ft each). One floor accommodates the convent of care-taker nuns from the Missionary Sisters of Jesus congregation. There is also a hall for celebratory functions. There is provision for adding more rooms to meet expected increased demand.
The construction of this old-age-friendly building complex, with two lifts and all required amenities was closely monitored and managed by Fr William Menezes who functions as diocesan estate manager and public relations officer.
