Mysuru, Jan 2: In a serial accident which happened near Bannikuppe Gate on the road to Hunsur from the city on Monday January 1, a motor bike rider lost his life. Two cars were damaged but passengers of both the cars escaped unhurt miraculously.
The deceased has been identified as S Mahesh (38), assistant teacher of Venugopal school, Hirikyathanahalli. He was the son of Swami Gowda from Kothegala in the taluk. Mahesh is survived by wife and a 30-month-old male child. A person named Dheemanth, who was travelling by one of the cars, escaped with minor injuries.
Mahesh was going in his motor bike from Ilawala here, which happens to be the native place of his wife, to his school in his motor bike. When he was passing through Bannikuppe village, a car which came from the opposite direction hit his vehicle hard. Mahesh, who suffered grave injuries to his head, died on the spot. The car then hit another car coming from the opposite direction before falling into the roadside drain.
All the four people travelling in the car were from Dakshina Kannada district,it is gathered. They fled from the spot after the accident.
Assistant sub inspector of Bilikere police station, Jaware Gowda, visited the spot and registered a case. The mortal remains of Mahesh were handed over to relatives after postmortem.
