Udupi: Accident at Kota takes away a life, another seriously injured

Udupi, Dec 29: A person who was moving in a vehicle to get treatment from a reputed hospital died after the car went out of control of its driver and hit the electric pole planted on the divider. The accident happened opposite Bobbaryanakatte at Kota Manuru on Thursday December 28 morning.

The deceased has been identified as Radhakrishna (53), resident of Banasagalli, Sagar. Vidyadhar (40), who was driving the car, suffered serious injuries. He stands admitted into a hospital at Manipal.

Radhakrishna was suffering from ill health since long. He used to visit KMC Hospital at Manipal often to get himself checked and get medical advice. On Thursday morning, he was moving in the car belonging to a relative. When the car was moving towards Udupi from the direction of Kundapur, the accident happened, which turned the car into a bundle of mangled steel.

Radhakrishna was ejected out of the car due to the impact of the accident and got deposited on the road. He had suffered serious injuries. Both the injured persons were taken to a hospital at Brahmavar immediately in a local ambulance. The doctors, who examined both, said that Radhakrishna was no more. Vidyadhar was thereafter shifted to Manipal hospital.

The deceased was an agricultural labourer. He has left behind wife and two sons. Kota police visited the spot and registered a case.
