Mangaluru, Dec 20: St Christopher Association Mangaluru organized Christmas celebration in the Higher Primary School, Kudupu on Wednesday, December 20.
Bhaskar K, local ward corporator, was the chief guest of the programme. To mark the Christmas celebrations, he cut the cake and distributed items to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “I am really happy and want to appreciate such meaningful programmes conducted for the needy. Christmas is being celebrated throughout the world with love, peace and harmony.”
President of the association, Sushil Noronha said, “Spirituality of the feast should be celebrated faithfully in spiritual centres. Celebrations shouldn’t be limited within our community but should be celebrated with social gatherings. Even in our locality all religions should celebrate feasts with togetherness. Christmas should be celebrated with poor and needy to wipe out their tears.”
School headmistress Flavia Tauro welcomed the gathering and teacher Anitha proposed the vote of thanks.
Teacher Gretta Lobo compered the programme. Stephy Pereira conducted games for the children. Association president Francis D’Souza, secretary Nigel Pereira, joint secretary Leena D’Souza were present on dais.
School children presented various cultural programmes. Kushwar was distributed to all.
