Kundapur, Dec 19: The district and sessions court here has found that the charges of raping a minor relative and posing death threat to her levelled against Suresh have been proved. The court said that the quantum of sentence would be announced on December 20.
Suresh used to stay in the house of the aggrieved girl. During July 2011, he had raped her when there was no one around. He also had threatened her with murder if she revealed rape incident to anyone. The girl, because of this threat, did not inform others about he rape. After nine months, she gave birth to a male child.
A complaint was registered in Amasebail polcie station. The then police circle inspector of the local station, Madan Gaonkar, had investigated the case and filed charge sheet. Judge of the court, Prakash Khanderi, who examined 13 witnesses, concluded that the prosecution has proved the charges.
The prosecution was represented in the case by public prosecutor, B Prakashchandra Shetty and Harishchandra Udayavar.
