Udupi, Dec 18: Prakash S Netalkar, managing director, Karnataka Cashew Development Corporation Ltd (KCDCL), Mangaluru, inaugurated the New Year Diary release and felicitation programme organised by Karnataka State Forest conservers Association, Kundapur Sub Division and Kudremukh Wildlife Sanctuary Karkala at Sheshashayana hall on Sunday, December 17.

Appreciating the social work of Udupi forest department, Prakash said, “They are doing social service activities even in their busy schedule. Everyone should work together like a family after joining a department. Only then the department will be successful. When considering the forest department alone, they will restrict to their own field. They will get less chance to develop contact with people in the society. If the department extends helping hands to needy people through social service programmes, it will be really meaningful.”

H Devaraj Pana delivered the keynote address said, “The recruitment system in the forest department has to be changed. Lower cadre officials do not get promoted and more facilities in the current recruitment system have to be modified.”

Retired forest department officials were felicitated on the occasion for their dedicated service. The students of high school, pre-university and higher education were honoured by the forest conservation association.

S Prabhakaran, deputy forest conservative officer, Kundapur, Anand Balegar, Karnataka state forest conservation, Rohini K district information officer, Subrahmanya H R, assistant forest conservative officer, Mudubidre division, Bhavan Das, assistant forest conservative officer, wild life sub division, Siddhapur, Udaykumar Jogi, divisional manager, Karnataka Cashew Corporation, V Manju, honourary advisory, and Subrahmany Sheregar, president, State Government Employees Association were present.
