Bengaluru, Dec 11: BJP has decided to use murder of Paresh Mesta at Honnavar and death of 18 other BJP and Hindu activists in the state to show the state government in poor light by telling the people that the state government is going soft on fundamentalist organizations. As part of this decision, a procession of BJP legislators will be taken out from Gandhi Statue at Vidhan Soudha to Raj Bhavan on December 12, where the processionists will meet the governor and plead with him to direct the government to hand over investigation into all these cases to National Investigation Agency, and to recommend to the centre to take over these cases.
This decision was taken at the core committee meeting of the party that was held under the leadership of BJP state in-charge, Muraleedhar Rao, at the BJP office at Malleshwaram here on Sunday December 10. BJP state general secretary and MLA, Aravind Limbavali, gave details of the decisions taken at the meeting, to media persons.

"Paresh Mesta was killed in barbaric manner. Boiling oil was poured on his face to distort it. The tattoo reading 'Jai Shreeram' written on his hand was deformed by chopping off that portion of the skin. He was tortured inhumanly before he was murdered. Although Paresh was murdered on December 6, this fact had been kept hidden from public knowledge because of the fact that chief minister, Siddaramaiah, was to visit the district on December 7. Because of soft corner the government has towards fundamentalist organizations, the meeting came to the conclusion that the government had tried to keep the information under wraps," Limbavali said. He informed that Jagadish Shettar and K S Eshwarappa, who head the legislators in assembly and council respectively, will lead the protest.
The meeting also decided to raise the topic of murders of Hindu activists in Karnataka, and condemning the state's failure to handle these cases affectively, at the parliamentary session beginning on December 15. For this purpose, a delegation of MPs and ministers from the state will meet the union home minister to hand over a memorandum placing on record these demands. Discussions were also held about the role of minister, Vinay Kulkarni, in the murder of Dharwad zilla panchayat member,Yogeesh Gowda, and new information coming to light relating to the death of deputy superintendent of police, M K Ganapati. He said that the meeting also was of the view that demand for handing over the case relating to murder of Yogeesh Gowda to Central Bureau of Investigation should be pursued and the party should keep up its attack against two state ministers.
