Beltangady, Dec 10: Three young men who had gone to Saudi Arabia in search of greener pastures, who were frustrated after reaching that country as their employer refused to provide employment as electricians, have safely reached their homes.
Indian Social Forum that has been helping out the people from coastal Karnataka facing distress in that country extended a helping hand to the trio.
Santosh Kumar from Naravi in the taluk, Sachin Kumar from Kaup in Udupi district, and Abdul Rashid from Sullia, who underwent untold miseries at the foreign destination, have now reached their homes safely.
The three youngsters, who had got employment through an visa agency at Mangaluru, were left in the lurch by their employer who kept their documents with him and even refused them food, salary, and accommodation. After spending several agonizing months there, they contacted members of Indian Social Forum seeking their help.
On their arrival at Mangaluru international airport, SDPI members extended them a warm welcome. SDPI leaders from the taluk also visited the home of Santosh Kumar and encouraged family members not to lose heart out of this experience.
