Udupi, Dec 5: 'Janwar' brand of Ayurveda medicines for veterinary use were released to the market on Saturday December 2.
Speaking after releasing the products, managing director of Manipal group of institutions, T Gautham Pai, noted that Ayurveda has several medicines meant to treat animals. He appreciated Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda for conducting research and bringing out safe Ayurveda medicines for maintaining health of animals like cows, cats, dogs etc and to cure them of diseases.
Some of these medicines, which have been approved by AYUSH department of Karnataka government, are Muni Lacto Granules for augmenting better lactation, Muniliv granules to address issues like hunger, digestion, growth and to improve liver functioning, Munipyrin granules for treating joint pain, Munitone granules for improving resistance against diseases and to reduce fat, Muni Prajna granules for healing behavioural volatility, sudden anger, stubbornness etc and improve learning capability among animals, Muni Compound Granules for addressing dysentery, gastro enteritis, tumors of the stomach and intestine, Munifem Granules for the treatment of uterus and release of eggs properly, apart from Muni Heal oil for curing swelling in the udders, are some of the medicines released by the concern.
"When Muniliv granules were mixed with food and used in prawns culture, there was notable drop in the diseases suffered by them, and there was improvement in their weight. Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda, which is well known for manufacturing high quality Ayurveda medicines, has undertaken this new effort, which deserves to be lauded," he added.
