Udupi, Dec 5: One of preliminary ritual of paryaya, Bhatha muhoortha as a precedence to the upcoming Palimaru Math Paryaya Swamiji, will be performed on December 7, on the auspicious day of Vrischika Masa, Hemalambi Nama Samvatsara, Maargashira Krishna Chaturthi, at 8.55 am, during Dhanur Lagna Simha Muhoortha, informed Balaji Raghavendra Acharya, executive president of Palimaru Paryaya welcoming committee at Palimaru Math office here on Monday, December 4.
Addressing media he said, “On December 7, a chappara muhoortha will be held in the morning. The 31st seer Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji of Palimaru math will ascend the Paryaya peetha for the second time. He will enter the city of Rajatapeetapura (Pura pravesham and Paryaya procession) on January 3 at 6.35 pm accompanied by a traditional procession of idols of Lord Ramachandra along with Hanumantha, Lakshmana and Seeta that are worshipped at the math in the forefront. Followed by the procession, there will be a stage function at Paravidya Mantapa, Car Street here.
“The grand procession will commence from Jodukatte, pass through K M Road-Kanakadasa Road -Car Street of Sri Krishna Temple, Udupi. A stage function and a felicitation programme will be held as part of upcoming Paryaya, which will be organized by City Municipality Counci, Udupi and Paryaya welcome committee.
“Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math will be presiding over the function along with the holy presence of Sr Vidyadeesha Teertha Swamiji. Dr Veerendra Heggade of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala will be present as the honourable president of Paryaya welcome committee.
“Other guests Ishwar Prasad Nambudari, Ravalji Badarinath Himalaya, Pramod Madhwaraj, district in charge minister, Shobha Karandlaje, MP, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru district, Vinay Kumar Sorake, MLA Kaup constituency, Nadoja Dr G Shankar, G Shankar Family Trust, Ambalpady, Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva's Education Foundation Moodbidri, and Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, president, CMC will be present.
“A thanking speech will be delivered by A Haridas Bhat, retired principal, Poornaprajna Vidyapeeta, Bengaluru.
“In preparation for the upcoming Paryaya, Hore Kanike procession will start from January 4 every day. The Hore Kanike is expected to come from various places. It will continue till date January 16. There will be cultural programmes everyday, starting from January 3 which will continue till January 17.
“Madhwa Navami is scheduled on January 26 and Vadiraja Jayanti will held on January 29.
“All preparations will take place under the guidance of Dr Mohan Alva,” said Balaji Raghavendra Acharya.
Shridhar Bhat, president, Palimaru Paryaya welcome committee, Padhmanbh Bhat and Matti Laxmi Narayana Rao, chief secretaries, Ramesh Rao Beedu, treasurer, Vishnu Padigar and Vishnu Acharya, joint secretary were present at press meet.
The Palimaru Paryaya will be held on January 17, 2018.
