Mangalore, Jul 7: It is learnt, that several Hindu organization activists have brought pressure on the district in-charge minister to take action against the police officials who they allege, are partisan and acted in a way that tilted unreasonably towards a particular group.
Activists aired their view as above at a consultative meeting of Hindu organizations held on Friday July 4 evening. It is gathered, that the district in-charge minister in turn, has contacted the home minister. The anger of the activists was directed towards the police officials for arresting workers from Hindu organizations in relation to some friction on the day of the Bharath bundh based on a complaint filed by a person named Anwar. They also took exception to the fact that the police failed to act on a complaint made about the murder attempt on a person named Bhujanga who sustained stab wounds, and failed to make any arrests. They also alleged, that the assistant superintendent of police inhumanly tortured the arrested persons.
Heads of the assistant superintendent of police Kaushalendra Kumar and a couple of other police officials are expected to roll in connection with this incident.
