Mangalore: John Patrao Memorial Badminton Tourney Inaugurated

Mangalore, Jul 6:John Patrao memorial district level badminton tournament organized jointly by Jeppu Badminton Club and Valencia Badminton Club got; under way at the U S Mallya indoor stadium in the city on Saturday, July 5.

MLA Yogish Bhat inaugurated the tourney and advised the participants to nurture the spirit of sportsmanship among them through out.


A Sadanand Shetty, president of Sri Devi Education Trust, presided over the function. Basavaraj, dean of Fisheries College, was the chief guest of the occasion.Ivan Patrao, Dolphy and H P Suresh were present on the dais.Narendra Nayak welcomed the gathering. Yashodhar invoked blessings of the almighty. Ganesh Kudva proposed vote of thanks. Vasant K Shetty compered the programme.

A total of 150 students from Dakshina Kannada district have been participating in this tourney. Valedictory will be held on Sunday, July 6.
