Kasargod, Dec 1: The police personnel have been searching for a man who has mysteriously disappeared. Before his disappearance however, the old man had visited a newspaper office, given the news of his death, and also arranged for the paid advertisement about his demise.

The man who suddenly vanished in this fashion happens to be Joseph Melukunnil (75), residing near Taliparamba. He had been staying in a lodge at Payyannur since the last some days. On Wednesday November 29, he visited a newspaper office. He told the staff there that his relative, who was a farmer and social activist, had died at Thiruvananthapuram. He also explained to them that the body of the deceased would be placed in the house of his son at Thiruvananthapuram for the relatives to pay respects after which funeral would take place.

In fact, the news and advertisement he gave were relating to his own death. He then returned to the lodge after which he has not been seen. The lodge owners, who saw the news and advertisement about the person's death, contacted the police and told them about the man's sudden disappearance.
