Mangaluru, Dec 1: Departments of Applied Science (biochemistry, biotechnology and microbiology) of St Aloysius College (autonomous) will organize 'Synbiosis 2017', a state level intercollegiate competition for pre-university students on December 2 at LCRI block.
Dr Richard Gonsalves , vice-principal, LCRI, St Aloysius College, will be the chief guest for the inaugural function, Fr Dr Leo D’Souza S J, director, Laboratory of Applied Biology, will be the guest of honour and Fr Dr Praveen Martin SJ, principal, St Aloysius College will be presiding over the function. Shameena K A, department of Biochemistry is the convenor of this programme.
The day-long programme includes six different events which includes competitions like Metamorphosis (Ice breaker), Bio-symposium (Seminar), Bio-mosaic (collage), Nutribite (cooking without fire), Membrain (Quiz), Chromo biology (Rangoli), and Bio-scavenge (wealth out of waste).
The objective of this programme is to explore the different branches of learning in life sciences and to experience the joy of learning biology. This programme is sponsored by department of Biotechnology, government of India under Star College Scheme.
