Mangaluru, Nov 27: The department of ENT and Head and Neck surgery at Kasturba Medical College here will host the Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI) Mid-Term National Conference 2017. The prestigious event which will kick-start on December 1 will be a 3-day medical extravaganza. It will be held at Hotel Moti Mahal, and is expected to lure hundreds of ENT specialists and postgraduate students from across the country and beyond the Indian shores.
Otorhinolaryngology is a field that has expanded tremendously over the past few years encompassing not only the treatment of ear nose and throat ailments but also surgical conditions of the entire head and neck.
Among the attractions of the ‘AOIMIDCON 2017’ will be live surgical demonstrations of challenging cases and cadaveric dissections. Of note, cutting edge technology such as navigation-guided surgery and coblation-assisted surgery will be performed at KMC Hospital Attavar: the FIRST of its kind in Dakshina Kannada District as a part of this event , The surgical procedures will be provided free of cost to the patients as part of the conference.
“This AOI Mid-Term National Conference will be a marvellous platform for Indian Otolaryngologists and students alike, and is a source of great pride for our beautiful city of Mangalore which has not seen the likes of such a huge national conference in many years. The last event of such magnitude was held in 1999,” stated Dr Vijendra Shenoy S., the organizing chairman.
