Bantwal, Nov 25: Thousands of people die every year in India due to scarcity of blood. There is no other solution to meet this blood requirement other than donating it. Ijaz Ahmad, president Popular Front of India of the taluk committee said that blood is the only object which can be provided to a human being in times of emergency. It can neither be created nor produced. He spoke as chief guest at a blood donation camp by Popular Front of India (PFI) BC Road Division in collaboration with Father Muller Hospital Mangaluru. "The government is trying to control the organization and such humanitarian services," he said.
President of the Popular Front of India BC Road divison, Imthiaz Thumbay, president DK District Family Welfare officer Dr Sikandar Pasha, Chandravati, gram panchayat Urban Development officer, Father Muller Hospital Mangaluru Blood Bank officer, Dr Namratha, Father Muller Hospital chief professor, Dr Kiran Shetty, Mohiyuddeen Juma masjid president Aziz Thumbay, Thumbay gram panchayat member Zahur Thumbay, Arafa Groups, proprietary Savunjhi Valavoor were present at the occasion.
A total of 76 units of blood were collected. Ladies also donated blood.
Khader Farangipete welcomed the gathering, Rahiman Mata presided and Suhaz Thumbe compered the programme.
