Kundapur: Illegal transportation of cows intercepted; seven cows rescued

Kundapur, Nov 23: Acting on credible information, Kandlur station police here traced and rescued seven cows illegally being transported to slaughter in the early morning on Wednesday, November 22.

Police team led by Kandlur police station SI Sridhar Nayak with help from forest department intercepted the vehicle on Kandlur J M road near the mosque at about 6 am. Two suspects in the vehicle managed to flee.

Police have seized Mahindra pick-up vehicle used for the transport. As the owners of seven cows were not found, the cows were taken to Asodu byre.

So far, police have managed to rescue 25 cows that were being transported here in October and the suspects were arrested. This is yet another incident that has come to light this month.

Police have formed two groups to nab suspects who transport cattle in vehicles in inhuman conditions.

    Its strange as always how the suspects manage to flee in this case..i never read anywhere the suspects caught.Definitely police is helping these thief's to escape.

    Encounter is best suited. Naa rahega baas naa bajega basuri. Otherwise, it could lead to communal violence.
