Udupi: 'Ram Mandir construction, cow slaughter ban main issues of Dharma Sansad'

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Nov 22: "Ban on cow slaughter and construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya are the main topics to be discussed in the upcoming Dharma Sansad. If these objectives are fulfilled, the Sansad would be regarded as successful. The government should take constitutional action to construct Ram Mandir at Ayodhya," said Sri Vishweshateeertha Swami of Paryaya Pejawar Math.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday November 22, Swamiji said, "Many people are trying to resolve the Ram Mandir issue outside the court but it should be resolved constitutionally. The government should pass a bill to construct the Mandir. Though the issue is in the Supreme Court, the government can proceed to pass the bill."

To a question on ban on cow slaughter, he replied, "Cow slaughter is a issue that both central and state governments need to ponder over. Though the central government is concerned and wants to ban, it has not been able to do so due to objection by some state governments."

Dharma Sansad will be held from November 24 to 26. More than 1,200 saints and seers are expected to attend. The event will culminated on November 26 with Virat Hindu Samajotsava at MGM grounds.
