Raichur, Nov 21: In a bizarre incident reported from Devadurga near Raichur, principal of a government polytechnic, locked the lecturers in a room for more than two hours for asking the pending honorary payment.
Vasudeva, principal of the polytechnic, locked 20 lecturers, including three females, for two hours from 12 noon to 2 pm for asking honorary payment of 16 months that is still not paid to them. The lecturers who were confined to the room, called their friends on mobile, who in turn informed the same to the police.
The principal was taken to task by the police who arrived at the institution at 2 pm. Eventually, the lecturers heaved a sigh of relief when the police opened the lock of the room and released all of them.
